The Swiss bank UBS 44-page dress code story on the BBC News site made me smile. Apparently they have issued a dress code manual for client facing staff. We’ve all seen the outfits in the office that have made us double take. We may have even worn them.

This weekend I was transported to a faraway land of digital perfection and held captive within the digital world of the computer itself. No, I wasn’t having a marathon session on ‘crackbook’. I was in a darkened room watching Tron Legacy in 3D on the big screen with surround sound at Empire, Leicester Square.

A friend of mine who is one of those people that is passionate about making a difference sent me a digital musical Christmas card from a charity called the Brotherhood of St. Laurence in Australia where she does some work. Like so many charities they don’t seem to be saving up their spirit of giving just for Christmas but are making a difference all year round.
