I know it’s not great for the knees but there is nothing like a run to clear the chest and mind. Forgot how revitalising it is; especially when you got the sea as a backdrop for a couple of weeks. If that’s not an incentive to get up and run, I don’t know what is.
My running buddy is 20 years my senior, and I was trying to keep up with her – I’m just glad she wasn’t on form or I’d be struggling! When I started the run I wasn’t sure whether I was going to make it as I hadn’t run for a while, but as I followed my buddy who has been running for years, got into my stride, relaxed and controlled my breathing, it started to feel like fun.
Hmmm…I might do another marathon after all…or maybe I’ll just try to get another morning run under my belt…
